So this is what I babysit when I'm up on a rig. The Met Tower. The small beehive-thingy above the solar panel is the thermister (temperature reader) and 10 meters up there is the anemometer. They are wired into the white Campbell box (facing north) to the data logger. It runs off the car battery, charged by the solar panel, and in this case there is also a satellite modem attached. I was not staying at this site, (just set up and take down) the data was being downloaded to Richmond and they were advised by email. ooooohhh technology :)
