A bunch of normal everyday life things have been going on since my last post (Almost a full year! sorry...), but the most exciting part is that I am now done work for the rest of 2008 and am finishing up week 38 of building us a baby. We are getting pretty excited to meet this little monkey.
In classic Pfeiffer/Sears form, I got to tell Jeff the good news over Skype while he was stuck in the middle-of-nowhere Siberia. Not to worry - he was home a couple weeks before that. This is no mailman's baby - Ha ha! As some of you may know, Calgary is in the midst of a massive baby boom, and so I quickly got on the phone and wrangled every type of appointment possible - not an easy feat. Thank goodness for internet connections in backwater russian cities; Jeff was able to chat fairly often.
After doctor and midwife meetings, out first peek of this sprout came at 7:30 am, Oct 1/07 - my very first activity following my 31st birthday! Check it out:

Everything has pretty much followed in the regular way since then. We had been planning for a home birth, but in the last couple of weeks I have surpassed the 'average' size and the baby is officially larger than the 90th percentile. Perfectly happy and healthy as far as anyone can tell, but pretty darned big. In hindsight, maybe I didn't need so much exercise and good organic food! I'm getting kind of intimidated by the prospect of birthing this baby out into the world, and we have opted to birth in the hospital just in case there is need for an extra set of hands and the like.
We are now off for a baby check-up. Jeff or I will post again with a progress report, hopefully sooner than later :)
