In a blink!

Wow - the end of August! It's a crazy thought to be staring down the Labour Day long weekend. I remember this time last year picking mum and Claire up from the airport and then having to explain that although I would normally been up for a bottle of red with lunch, I had a little someone inside who wouldn't be so keen on it - Yay! And now he's almost 5 months old.
Silas is doing a lot of 'almost' things these days; he rolls on his side, but not all the way over; he stands by holding on to your fingers; he sits for a few seconds on his own but still sllloooowwly topples over. He loves his baths and often cries when he gets taken out, and has started to test out both shrieking and making raspberries. So far there are no teeth on the horizon, but there sure is a lot of drool!
On the mommy front, I have started to work 4 hrs a day, 2 days a week, mostly from home and it has been pretty fun so far. It's nice to talk with adults about 'real world' things. So far I'm finding half days 2 days a week the perfect amount - I still have lots of Silas time, can still go for a run with the chariot in the mornings and get a load of diapers done in the afternoon. Sadly, it does cut into my blog writing time...
This weekend we are taking Silas for his first camping trip. We are staying rather close to home in case we have to just pack it in, but I'm hoping for success. We are heading to Vancouver Island on a family vacation at the end of September, so this weekend will be our trial run. Hopefully I'll have some cute nature-baby pics to post next week.
