Vent

Yesterday Silas got his latest immunization shots. We went in early to participate in a development study focused on identifying early signs of autism. I didn't think much of it before hand, but after filling in all the questionaires - yikes! I know that Silas is happy, engaged, healthy baby but no, he's not crawling, he's not talking, and we're struggling with eating solids - but that's NORMAL. One part of the study was also to judge the emotional well-being of the mother and asked all the post-partum questions along the lines of 'do you feel overhelmed?', 'are you confident in what you are doing', etc... Well, I was feeling pretty good until you started asking about Silas' speech development - Geesh! He just turned 7 months old! Today I have been upset, but luckily I have some great mom friends who have been giving me perspective. No real point to this post; I just wanted to vent. I feel better :)
